| Section Leadership Conference |
|
What was once named the Section 1/10/11 conference, is now known as the Section Leadership Conference (SLC). The SLC is planned for the last weekend in June 2011. Carnival Cruise wants a $900,000 dollar letter of credit. The Section Director wants each region to put $2000 (the approximate cost of sending 4 people) up front. The $400-$500 per person covers all costs (registration, board, food) except drinks.
Regions will be refunded if they do not send the number of board members to cover the $2000 expenditure.
The cruise would leave on Friday and return on Monday adding an extra day to the usual conferences and will have plenty of free time for attendees to enjoy the cruise. |

| New Tri-Area U16 & U19 AYSO program |
|
The AYSO Area Directors in San Diego have agreed to pool resources (teams, fields, referees, etc) to increase the number of teams and volunteers participating in the U16 & U19 programs in San Diego. This will allow the players to play more games against different teams and different regions during the season. We hope that this will improve the AYSO soccer experience for our U15 thru U19 players.
Originally, it was expected that 18 teams would participate...currently 47 teams have committed to the program. Most of the teams are coming from Area V and most of the referees are coming from Area R.
The Regional Commissioners (RC) voted that a team must participate in the inter-area play in order to go to playoffs. San Diego has permission to have their own U16 & U19 Section Play-offs which will be held the weekend before Thanksgiving. The schedules should be available at the next area meeting (Aug. 19) for the RCs to view and sign. |
