| 1st Place Ken Aston Cup 2011 |
|
Ernie Rahm from Area K, Kolby Keo from Area E and Armando Velasco from Area Z competed in the Ken Aston Cup and took first place in the Excellence Division. We are proud of our winners!
Colleen Daly, Rick Sedivy and Peter Furman, all from Area K placed fourth in the Excellence Division.
Aaron Schlosser and Patrick Brennan from Area R and Francisco Davila from Section One placed 2nd in the Development Division.
The three teams representing Section Eleven did it with professionalism, respect to the game, the players, coaches and each other, and with humility and grace. Everyone had a great time participating and came away with the tools to be better referees and assessors.
Many thanks to the evaluators from Section Eleven who helped make this event successful.
Thanks to Soccer One for donating a complete referee kit worth $182 to each member of the first place team.

| Instructor Training - Saturday, June 4, 2011 - Grossmont High School |

Instructor Training is taking place this Saturday at Grossmont High School - La Mesa, CA.
The Introduction to Instruction class is going to be limited to 8 students. (This class is the pilot for the new rollout.) Please send me a list by noon today of any of your volunteers that would be interested in taking this class. We are going to spread the numbers between the 3 areas.
If you have people that have already taken the introduction to instruction and would like to advance their certification or change discipline please have them register for the classes on eAYSO. The cost is only $20.
This is a great time to take advantage of the courses being held in San Diego County. |

| Section 11 Road Shows |
|
Road Shows provide an opportunity for AYSO volunteers to receive the training and certifications that are required per their AYSO job descriptions. The training is provided in a location that is geographically convenient to the areas and regions throughout Section 11...thus the term "Road Show"-- because the training is brought on the road to the regions.
Section 11 will be conducting three Road Shows in 2011:
April 2: Area R, S, V - Area S will host a Road Show in San Diego County
June 5: Area K, L, Q - CANCELLED - will be combined with July 17th Road Show.
July 17: Areas E, Z, K, L, & Q - will have their combined Road Show in Los Angeles County - location to be announced. |
