In compliance with AYSO National Rules and Regulations, the we announce the opening of the application period for the position of Area Director for Area 11R. The Area Director position requires a time commitment averaging on 25-30 hours per week. During the months of the primary and secondary program, hours can increase depending on program requirements, meetings and special events.

Qualifications to be eligible to nominate yourself or be nominated for this position are that you have experience as a current/past Regional Commissioner, Area Staff Board member, or a registered volunteer in good standing with AYSO.

The process is to have open nominations and candidates presented to the Nomination Committee (NC). The NC will then vet each of the candidates for eligibility and as a volunteer in AYSO in good standing. At the conclusion of the open nomination time period, the NC will send the candidates applications to the Section Director to review. The Section Director will then conduct an election to vote on who will be the Area Director. Once that is complete, the Section Director will forward to the AYSO National Board of Directors for approval.

The nomination period is open now and will close October 19, 2022. It is anticipated that the vote will occur on October 20, 2022 and the eligible Regional Commissioners in place at the time of the open nominations will be eligible to vote. The current AD term ends in November 30, 2022 so the successful candidate will become the AD Elect until such time as the current AD term expires or an agreed upon transition date occurs.
